4.99⭐️ because there were mentions of specific modern pop songs, like Taylor Swift, that took me out of the folds of the novel and felt a little too basic

otherwise, i truly couldn’t put this book down, or stop thinking about it despite sleeping or watching other movies. i was obsessed with it

writing style reminds me of the many lives of kat cay, the wedding people, and somewhat abby jimenez doing genre bending

I kept thinking, is this almost done. Not in a bad way but it does span a good set of years. Not a straight a - b book. If Cutting Edge and Wuthering Heights joined forces with a bit of Daisy Jones.

I connected to the main character at first, but as the story wore on, I found myself finding reasons to NOT pick up this book. I did not enjoy the ending at all, and thought it didn't fit the psychology of the main character and all the inner turmoil we saw from her throughout the story.
