A lot of similar themes/plot points of other fantasy series… I wish the characters were a little more natural sounding in dialogue, and also maybe that we had some more context for our fmc, the world and pretty much everything else. A fellow reader said it best- feels like we’re dropped into the middle of a story that should have a prequel. 
Not my fav series but I’m reading the second to see where things go

What did I just read? 

It’s a book of almosts, almost dnf based on the first 30%, gave it another try, middle was interesting and showed promise, and the ending left me disappointed and very confused.
