This book surprised me! I started it randomly and it quickly took over my other books haha it did have a harry potter for adults x fourth wing vibe going on. Definitely going to continue the series.
4-was a bit disjointed with the enemies to lovers… slow burn but the end just felt muddled. Are they in love? Was he forcing her? They had a connection clearly but how much is supposed to be real? Is he a bad guy or a good guy playing the bad guy? I felt like Blake’s catcher needs some clarity. Too much hot and cold with the love story with no real direction for it to head. Hopefully book two clears that up.

I would highly recommend this book!! As a new reader of romantasy, dark academia. I was hooked from the start, I couldn't put the book down! It was a great read and can't wait to see how the story unfolds in the other books.

Are there gaping plotholes and things that make no sense whatsoever? Yes.
Did I care? Strangely, no, because I ate this shit up.
Apart from feeling left out of a secret I desperately wanted to know - like dating someone you really, REALLY like, who in return is lukewarm at best and obviously holding everything back from you - I basically inhaled this book.
Although, it may have helped that I skimmed through the synopsis for the Blood of a Fae Series during the initial confusion because unlike with the aforementioned pretty-much-doomed hypothetical dating situation, I worked it out enough to proceed happily and with enough excitement to start book 2 immediately.
