A plot driven by the conversations characters AREN'T having. -One of my least favorite plot tools. There is so much about this book that doesn't line up, especially from an emotional perspective. Half of the FMC's choices are only plausible if she has short term memory loss. It's irritating AF.

A good character and world building book. Easy to follow.

Alot like Vampire Academy and Zodiac Academy combined.

An entertaining read. Not sure there is anything truly groundbreaking in this story but I enjoyed it overall and look forward to continuing the series
challenging dark tense fast-paced

I really enjoyed this book more than I thought. I will say Medra and Blake’s relaxation is very insta lovey—but not?—while their relationship takes time it also has very odd shifts that almost don’t make sense to the reader.. or at least me. I appreciate the very specific back and forth for the dual POV rather than constant back and forth. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2 and 3.
