It hurts me to say this because of how much I loved this book while reading it, but it's a big no. I just read that it was inspired by the Sixties Scoop and that is highly problematic. Do better, please.

This book was super cute and sweet. I enjoyed the characters and the story. My main issue with this book is that I didn't really get the tone. The storyline, heavy handed life lessons, and characters seemed like they belonged to a children's story, but the page count and language used (big words, not swear words) aren't child-friendly. I don't read more than one book at a time, but I feel like this is one that would be better enjoyed that way because it could get a little saccharine at times. Overall, I did enjoy the book and I'll read the sequel, but I'm not sure I'll read the author's other books because of my issues with the tone.

I will continuously say this but this was like a gay ghibli movie!
I absolutely loved the tension between Author and Linus bus also Author’s continuous flirty and swoony eyes towards Linus lol. Also these children are the only kids I want to be associated with
