I loved the questioning Emory and how the reader both saw the mystery solved by her and the morality of the choices and decisions made by the characters as she tried to understand her place in the world.

Some elements were great. Some were bad. Way too much unnecessary scene setting detain.

I loved that the mystery involved the universe itself, that the world is only revealed as the story unfolds.
It took a chapter or two to get into it, but once the style became familiar I loved everything about it.
The audiobook was great because of the way the narrator interacts with the characters.

i sincerely enjoyed this very much and think it's quite a lot better than evelyn hardcastle. i love the world turton has crafted here and i love the characters and i think this is a very, very good mystery novel. also, unbelievably beautiful cover.
I really wish you could give half stars, since this is definitely a 3.5, and not quite a 4. His writing is really wonderful and inventive, and 7 1/2 Deaths was a favorite of mine.
I was with the characters, went along on this journey in a world slightly different from ours, and had some fun.
The ending is where it lost me. It felt like a let down, and everything was tied up in a bow.
That being said Turtons writing and ideas will keep me coming back.
