This book had some bright moments, but in the end there were too many different storylines vying for attention. I struggled to finish it.

Another gem by Turton. I loved Evelyn Hardcastle, and I loved this one as well!
This was such a unique concept and with so many ends to follow, it truly felt like I was piecing together the mystery right along with Emory. Even right up until the end, I couldn’t quite tell what was going to happen! Granted, I’m a mystery novice, but this is my standard from this point forward.
I’d recommend this to Gideon the Ninth fans, 1000 piece puzzle enthusiasts, and any fans of Turton’s previous works.

Took a little in the beginning but once the murder happens it picks up and opens up a lot of thought provoking ideas while guiding you to the truth. Very enjoyable look at the human condition.

For how much I love 7 Deaths, this one just wasn’t as good. I almost abandoned it at the beginning, but then once things I got in motion, I was at least interested by the premise. Still, it was messy and whenever I read a heavy mystery and don’t really care about the details of how it happened, I know something lost me along the way.
