If I could give it 10 stars I would. Spice was on point, great presentation of femdom and male sub.

This was second book from this author for me. I liked that the hero was more submissive than the heroine but also felt like this could’ve just been m/m book. I guess the writing just isn’t for me

Thoughts:

Submissive Male energy? With a man/monster that looks like that?! Sign me up. I’ll read that! I’ve never read this kind of kink before, so this was a whole new world for me. Dominant female, soft male is not a trope I see often. The spice was definitely spicy! I think I squealed once and wanted to high five Jack another time 🤣

Layla Fae, when it comes to the Arranged Monster Mates series, is my favorite writer of the three. The story did not disappoint! I enjoyed how she wrote Jack and the Frost family, their community, their traditions and way of life. I would read it again solely for that. But I did not like Scarlett. I found that she was too angry for me and some of the things she felt and did to Jack was to hurt him or make someone feel like she did in her painful past.

Don’t get me wrong, she grew to love and appreciate Jack and his family, but I did have moments where I winced at her behavior. I also thought a couple times that Jack could do better than expose someone like that to his family. But in the end, Happily Ever After came and it made sense.

It was a good read. I think I would read it again now that I understand the sexual dynamics and am braced for Scarlett’s personality. Jack’s character is definitely what will bring me back.
