"I’ve always loved winter. And now I know why."

It's the holiday season and that means I'm making my way through some holiday/ winter themed reads. When I started Frost I had no idea the emotional rollercoaster I was in for. I knew it was a Jack Frost retelling, but I was not ready for this beautiful story full of longing, heartache, and love. From their first meeting when Luka was 8 years old, there was something that wouldn't let them forget each other. 19 years go by before they meet again, but when they do, nothing can stop their instant connection. No matter how hard they try, Jack and Luka can't shake their rapidly developing feelings. Unfortunately, there is a BIG problem: While Luka is human, Jack is an immortal being. Luka will age and eventually die, while Jack will stay frozen in time just as he is.

"He really is like a snowflake. Beautiful. Unique. But impossible to keep."

The impossibility of their relationship certainly put up a hurdle to the romance. And what a romance it was. Their time together was passionate, and it was also incredibly beautiful. Jack truly had a way with words. There were multiple swoony moments...and then there were moments that brought tears to my eyes. I swear I could feel an echo in my own heart of the agony Luka was in knowing he'd have to let Jack go, that the longer they stayed together, the harder it would be when it came time to say goodbye.

“Don’t forget me, little light.”

I spent the second half of the book wondering if there was even going to be an HEA. How could there be? There seemed to be too much stacked against them. I had no idea how they were going to be able to make it work, but I just knew they had to. There was no way I would accept that their goodbyes had to be forever.

I gave this book 5 stars because any book that can invoke enough emotion to make me cry deserves that rating. I'm not going to tell you how it ends. I'm going to let you read this truly unique love story and find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

This was an unexpected sure.

I was expecting cute and cuddly and while it was that, it got a little emotional.

Jack and Luka were adorable together and I was rooting for them. I really wanted them to get their happily ever after.

A really good read.

The romance came out of nowhere, felt like bad fan fiction. But I kind of enjoyed the ending so 2,5/5
