I liked all 3 brothers in different ways. Marley upset me from time to time, but in the end the story was satisfying for me. I think the parents were meant to be important to the story but I found myself not caring about them. Overall a good book.

Loved loved loved. Marley and the Joseph family grew on me so quickly, and I couldn’t turn away from their world. Beautifully written, and raw. A must read.
The prose is beautiful but unfortunately the story did not carry enough weight to get it to 4 stars for me

There were moments when the story pulled me in, and many moments when I was thinking, what.
3.5/5 stars. I enjoyed it but I wasn’t enthralled. I was a little bored at times to be honest. I enjoy character driven literary fiction, but I think just the subject matter wasn’t of interest to me as I had thought it would be…
This book was dumb. Every single character was annoying. There was very little plot. Like, what was the point? Very repetitive. Dumb, just dumb.
Just an amazing story teller, is Amy Jo Burns. The characters were so real to me. Felt like I was reading creative nonfiction or memoir. So many emotions with this reading experience.
