Please Seek Therapy

Beautiful writing but while I know it wouldn't be realistic in the time and place for these people, I just really wanted all of them to seek therapy. I also was way more interested in the friendship of Marley and Jade -- all of the Joseph men were kind of boring.

I really like how this author writes. I even jotted down a few quotes for the clever crafting of sentences. At the heart of this story is a complicated family. The story and its characters elicited a strong emotional response.

waaaaay too cheesy.

This was an interesting and dark story of a family with issues.

Marley is new to Mercury, small town nowhere and has always wanted to belong to a family. Her single mother is lovely, but it has always been just the two of them, on the move.
When she arrives in Mercury, she falls in with the Joseph family. Three brothers, one secretive mother and a father full of crap.
It had me guessing about what was going to happen most of the time.
I liked the writing and I liked the characters but I feel like everyone made bad decisions and was kind of hard to take.
I suppose that is a sign of good writing.
It was a quick read, and engaging.
