1. Oliver did nothing wrong
2. I was on the edge of my seat reading this. It was a well-plotted thriller with both excellent foreshadowing and enough twists that at least some caught me by surprise. The psychological elements were really well-done.
3. It's also an unabashed cop fanfic. PJ has watched way too much Law and Order SVU

i really enjoyed this book. every time i opened it up, i had a hard time putting it down. the author writes beautifully, made each character feel real and raw, and delivered this well crafted gem of a novel. definitely recommending to friends and anyone who loves a good thriller

Triggered. Absolutely triggered by this. Gaslighting, domestic abuse, controlling partner, it was all there bringing up my ex. I kind of saw a bunch of the plot twists coming, but I didn't see some of what happened coming. Overall, it kept my attention for the most part - though it dragged a little with the dog. Also, I hate the "once an addict, always a hand around the pills" mentality of this all. It was a lot of slightly underdeveloped motifs and a lot of extra stuff I didn't think is really needed. But, it kept my attention and was pretty good, despite triggering me immensely at times.
