Strong, interesting female lead. Twists and turns that kept me reading ; finished it in one day! Already snapped up the other 2 in the series so I can binge them as well. First book I’ve read by this author and I’ll be checking out everything else she’s written asap

Fast paced and engaging

Well written and with a brutally damaged main character and appalling crimes. An easy and engaging read with an interesting premise of hyper-sensitivity due to the trauma of being a captive for three years.

Very real and raw as a homicide detective who escaped a kidnapping situation readjusts to life on the force as she tries to solve a case and her own kidnapping.

This is a police detective story, but a bit different than the usual. The story centers around a police detective who is imprisoned by an unknown man for three years and then escapes. This experience colors her perspective and her procedures in future investigations in an interesting way. The story is well constructed and well written. The narration is also excellent. It will hold your interest. In fact, i found myself putting off other things so i could spend more time listening to the story. If you enjoy mysteries and detective stories, i'd highly recommend this. It's the first book in a new series.

Was able to squeeze in one last book of the year!! And this was a great one!

It is the story of Jude, estranged daughter of the governor, homicide detective, and kidnapping (of the years) survivor. Her memory of her abduction is gone, she tries to build back her life while solving some seemingly unrelated cases that bring her full circle to a case she was working before she was abducted.

Her theories are not popular.... But are they right?
