Don't miss this beautifully written book that will broaden, deepen, enrich what you learned about slavery in US History classes. A must read for our high school students as well.
Side note: Raised in TX and with family lineage from Galveston, I particularly enjoyed the chapter about Juneteenth. I didn't realize it did not officially become a nationally recognized holiday until 2021.
