Here we go again! Leia's brother goes missing. She goes to the vampires for help and all He'll breaks loose. These books are exciting to the max. You have unexpected twists and turns everywhere!

I enjoyed the first book in this series and its emotionally charged take on vampire/human relations, and this sequel does not disappoint. Leia Walker is a much more realistic protagonist than you usually find in this genre. She has OCD and anxiety, does not possess superhuman battle skills or strength, and is in many ways a rather ordinary person caught up in extraordinary events. For me, this makes the whole story so much more relatable and involving. What would you do if you were suddenly aware that vampires exist? For Leia, it means doing what she can to prepare to protect herself, but she never expects that it will be someone close to her who she has to save. The story starts out more slowly as we gradually are introduced to Leia's life after the events of the first book, and she reconnects with her vampire protectors while dealing with the sticky situation of also working with a pair of vampire hunters. By the middle of the book, events really take off and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough as I approached the end. Exciting action, seemingly impossible and unsurvivable situations, friendships and loyalties tested. It all leads up to a highly charged ending that left me anxious to find out what happens next. Terrific take on vampire lore with a heroine you can't help but root for.

Great sequel to Nocturnal Blood. The author continues on the bloody fanged path leading the reader to redlight districts, faction wars and hellish farms. Bring your best crossbow and enjoy the ride!

In this, the second book in the trilogy, we find Leia once again embroiled in vampire business, and this time an innocent is at risk. Leia's brother, Nathan, is abducted on a school trip to Amsterdam and it's not a normal kidnapping...

A solid and well written sequel, covering a multitude of YA tropes, with excellent pacing and character growth.

I had a few issues with important events suddenly happening, but that's just a personal opinion.

Looking forward to seeing what bloody delights the author can deliver in the future!
