I love Anne Lamott. Her writing is always just so so good. I super duper enjoyed reading this book it was just the right balance of reflection and frustration but also optimistic without being preachy

Anne Lamott has a way if speaking the words of my soul. Even the ones I didn’t know I needed to voice. Her thoughts are hope are no less I example of this phenomenon. This beautifully written book took me inside myself to examine where I find and place my hope, how I know hope still exists, and how to strengthen my hope through everyday life.

I love everything Anne Lamott writes. This book made me wish I could sit down and have lunch with her to talk about life. As always, in this book she's wise and funny and just a lovely human being.

This book is (I think) an extension of her TED talk. I assume the book came after the talk, but they both look at 12 ideas that she "knows for sure" - things that apply to everyone. I love these sort of books where older folks with some wisdom reflect on what they know. To me it feels almost like cheating on a test, ha. But this is great! Lamott includes plenty to laugh about and to ponder. It's a great, little book.
