it was ok, focused way too much on one uncomfortable topic.
I read the first book in the series when I was like 12 or something and it was great, but when I read this one I was blushing. A lot. But it did get me thinking about a lot of stuff surrounding the ~controversial subjects~ that no one really talked about with me. So though it was a little embarrassing on my part to read, it really did entertain me as well as answering and informing me.

Ready Or Not - the story of how Samantha debates losing her virginity - could very easily become cheesy and ridiculous. However, Meg Cabot handles the issue with grace. Sam thinks that she wants to have sex with her boyfriend but is faced with a lot of pressure from an abstinence group at school. Ready Or Not had a lot of good lessons in it while still being really fun and easy to relate to.
This is the sequel to All-American Girl. It's pretty out there, but it's a fun read, and I'm amused by the top ten lists that are between each chapter. Basically, the main character, Sam, saves the life of the president in the first book and the two books show how that affects her life... especially since the president has a very cute, single son. A very fun, lighthearted read.
I'm not surprised at the negative reviews here, but I am a bit disappointed. most of the readers here are or were at one point teenagers themselves, no? people get so high and mighty when they talk about teen sex, as if THOSE ideas and thoughts and actions NEVER occurred to them in adolescence. teens like sex. there i said it. while abstinence is one option (and was represented in this book, so I don't really see how this book pushes any sort of sexual agenda), I think it is more realistic to present kids with all the options and consequences, rather than hoping for the best and freaking out when kids make choices for themselves...which is kind of the point of adolescence. learning to make your own decisions? but that's just me.
I liked this book better than the one before it. sure, Sam did make me want to choke her at times, but I chalked this up to her being a teenager. I loved Lucy. I'm 28 and still hope to be as cool as Lucy one day. I loved David too, and I thought his relationship with Sam was really cute. it was fun to see how that relationship evolved from their first meeting. I thought it was a fun way to pass a couple hours (it was definitely a short read). would read again.

I haven't read the first book in this series but i still really enjoyed this instalment. Not entirely sure if I want to read any more of this series but as a book on its own, I really liked it.
This was deffinetly NOT a book that I will read everyday.
Honestly, I'm confused by all the hate. Yes, Meg Cabot talks about premarital sex. Big whoop. Sam went back and forth on the decision, and even though she changed her mind, it was HER decision. I would definitely recommend this to girls in high school.
I loved All American Girl by Meg Cabot. But I didn't like the message of this book. I think this is one of her worst books yet, and I like most of her stuff. I recommend All American Girl, but I don't recommend Ready or Not.
