I don’t think that Siena could write a book that I didn’t just gobble up!

I am so blessed to be a part of her ARC team!

We met Bristol in Second Rate Superstar she is Dakota’s bestie and she is “dating” Nix. Well she would like to be his but playboy is an idiot!

Bristol decided it’s time to leave her past behind and takes a job as part of the Speeds traveling press pack. First night in Indy she meets a stunning man with green eyes and decides the best way to get over a “man” is to get under a new one! No names exchanged what could go wrong?!

Maddox is dealing with the loss of his career on the ice and the Speeds new head coach. When a stunning woman with red hair sweeps him off his feet!

The relationship that slowly developed was amazing. Does hurt that Maddox has quite the mouth on him!

Just when I think Siena can’t top herself she proves me wrong!

✨Favorite Quotes✨
"You deserve to be the center of a universe. And if I'm being honest, you're starting to become the center of mine."

"But you're not there yet. And that's okay. I'm happy to wait until you've shed the past. I'm a patient man."

"No. I thought I was doing the right thing, giving you space, but I know now that was the last thing you needed.
I should have offered to carry your burdens instead of expecting you to shoulder them alone. And I'm sorry that I wasn't a better man for you. I never meant to hurt you."

This book was

binged so hard

Ahhhh the way I binged this book so hard is no joke! If you have read any book from either prior series then you already know you’ll love it. We got to meet Bristol in the previous series since she is Dakotas bestie and Braxton took us all from Connecticut to Indy. However this poor girl just can’t get away from these hockey legends. I will say though the one whose eye she caught is determined to make her see not all players are the same and Maddox definitely made me swoon hard. I cannot get enough of him honestly. Although I will admit I was pretty excited that we still got to see our favorite girl gang and especially Hannah since I feel like we are somehow separated at birth LOL. I’m so sad now though because I hate this waiting game for the next book.

What is so amazing about standalones, especially from different series from the same authors is that no matter what, you get a glimpse of past characters in the books. My heart warms up when the OG characters are mentioned

As this being my first book from Siena, and wow i was not disappointed. Maddox was swoon worthy! I loved each character and the tension! I can’t wait for more books this series! The angst and the need for one another was ahhh! I will now be reading all other books because I need more of Siena’s writing!

Oh & Maddox will now be added to my list of book boyfriends because how can you not fall in love with him.

This was a really enjoyable read. It was sweet and funny with enough spice sprinkled in to make me happy.
The characters were really likeable and I was invested in their relationship from the get go.
I read this one without having read any of the interconnected series books so probably missed some nuance but it didn’t seem to matter too much.
I liked that the characters had some depth to them and that we got to see their growth play out.
If you’re after an easy to read sports romance with a swoon worthy MMC, this one is a great choice.

Siena Trap is one of my go to authors when it comes to hockey romance and this one did not disappoint!

Maddox Sterling. Swoon. This is the ultimate age gap romance, let this man teach you all the things. Bristol had already stolen my heart in Second Rate Superstar and I was so happy to see her be the FMC for this book. She is fiery, passionate, coming into her own, and is not afraid to fight for what she deserves. Maddox is a fantastic MMC and I loved seeing his own struggles while he tried to figure out his career and love.

If you haven't read any of Trap's books, start with the Remington Royals series and then get ready for the ride of your life.

Also, Jenner...oh Jenner....I NEED this book!!!

I loved the next lady for the WAG group from the other books. I like how this keeps bringing in touches from other books but not so much that you are wondering what you missed.

I felt this one skimmed over stuff more like Bristol’s and Nix and then later on with Maddox and his time for dealing with no longer playing. It felt skimmed over and didn’t fully dive into this more which I would have loved to have seen.

Still a really good feel good steamy read.

I loved Bristol’s development but it also felt they all got over things too quickly sometimes instead of a gradual progression. I would have loved to see a little more depth.

Spice 3/5
Rating 3.5/5

I didn’t think anyone could top Cal and Hannah. Enter Bristol and Maddox to rock my world. I really enjoyed the Comets, but I think I am going to be obsessed with the Speed. I LOVED this book. I laughed, I cried (way too many times) and I swooned. Maddox was like perfection as a book boyfriend. Bristol was incredibly realistic in her struggles, but she still managed to be strong and brave. Of course, I love the peeks of our other favorite characters.

The chemistry, the spice, the affection, the love, the attention. It was truly chefs kiss. I would read a billion more books about these two.

I am so eager for Jenner’s story because I am so curious to hear his background with his ex-wife (and also I hope to see more of Maddox and Bristol)

Anyway, I’ll just be over here swooning until the end of time. Be prepared to see Maddox and Bristol in many SSSMS Sunday posts to come!

I wish we could use half stars because this is really 4.5

I thought it would be difficult to top Dakota and Braxton, but hello Bristol and Maddox! I had completely forgotten that we’d met him briefly at the club with Hannah, and I loved how we were reminded of that on several occasions lol

I’m so glad Bristol got her fresh start and got away from Nix. And I’m also glad we got to see the continuation of Dakota and Braxton’s story with appearances from Jaxon, Cal, and the Comets’ WAGs.

There were plenty of times I wanted to yell at Maddox to stop being stupid… and there were some scenes that were drawn out while others were a little rushed… but overall this book was very enjoyable. I’m very much looking forward to the next one!
