If you could bottle a summer's day in the mountains, the sound of the river passing you by, and turn this bottle into a book, this is it. A dear friend gave this to me and this is my first Ruskin Bond book. I loved it completely and cannot wait to read more of his work.

Warm read. Ruskin Bond loves flowers, especially the rebellious ones.

iif there is only one book that I’ll want everyone to buy and read, it has to be this one. It is simply beautiful. The 150 pages seem to go by quick because of Mr. Bond’s predilection for simple, everyday and relatable things and his easy-to-follow writing style. There are many great nuggets of wisdom in this brief memoir - nuggets that I’m going to ruminate on and apply to my life from now on.

As I walked home last night
I saw a lone fox dancing
In the cold moonlight.

Written as part memoir, part dairy entries, A Book of Simple Living is Ruskin Bond's gift to us on his 80th birthday.

I loved how this is a book that you can start reading from literally any page and there will still not be any feeling of disconnect.

Instead what we find within the pages of this book is a testimony from one of India's finest authors of what it is like to live in harmony with the nature, offering us little snippets of his idyllic life in the hills of Mussorie

Reading Ruskin Bond is like taking a walk in the misty hills of Mussorie, listening to the soft bird calls and learning to appreciate the simplest things in life - like warm chai on a rainy day and the faint winter sun on your skin.

Did I mention Ruskin Bond is one of my all-time favourites?
