This was a great read; well written, vivid, sad, uplifting, and so suspenseful that I couldn't do anything else besides making sure I would finish it.
A couple of minor annoyances, the first is that I felt there was maybe too many characters; I remembered and could relate with over half of them but the other half characters didn't feel fleshed out enough.
The second minor annoyance.....the book ended too abruptly, and I felt that the last part ( no spoiler here ) was too short and could and should have been either much short, leaving the last 10-20 pages to be expanded on in a second book of its own.
Overall though....wow, that was a great way to spend a weekend !

I’m not normally a big fan of alien invasion stuff but I really enjoyed this book. I thought the book had great pacing and the details of Earth’s invasion was interesting. The characters didn’t feel very believable but I’m able to suspend disbelief in a sci-fi book pretty easily. I immediately picked up the sequel.

Meh end-of-the-world novel in which humans do nothing and aliens do everything. And all women in it are wives/sex objects.

Recommended if you don't like escapist science fiction. This is a slow moving downer of a novel. It's well written, but I had to struggle to pull through it.
