Full Review on my blog!

A lot better than I expected. It kinda reminded me of The Host by Stephanie Meyer, but 100 times better, with way more detail and uniqueness. I absolutely loved this book and thought it was great. The idea of having people in your head makes for an interesting story and I loved the way the author presented in the book.

The Delphi Effect is an extremely action packed adventure from start to finish with many paranormal elements along with some science fiction mixed into an intense thrill ride. This series is classified young adult but I would say with this one the characters and action seemed more on the mature side than a typical young adult read.

This was such a good start to a series, especially with the cliffhanger ending!

Ahhhhh….I wish that the next books in the trilogy were out already! I neeeeeed to know what happens next. I highly recommend it!

3.5 stars. I liked this ... just not sure I'm totally captivated enough to continue on with the series. I liked that this started right off, to grab the reader. It did grab me. We are introduced to Anna ... she sees dead people. Ok, not really. More like they glob onto her and won't leave her alone until she helps them. Then once they leave, all their memories (knowledge, skills) stay with her too.

I'd just read another book with similar type stuff "Ghost Gifts" and purposely pushed this^ one, so I wasn't reading two "ghost" books back to back to confuse them in my mind. But that's still happening a little.

Anna's latest inhabitant, the murdered Molly, ends up involving Anna in a much greater conspiracy. One where there are other individuals with paranormal powers.

This had a LOT of current pop-culture references, the TV series Psyc, Dresden files and such.

I liked this ... didn't love it. Also (in audiobook) this narrator is not my favorite, but she's apparently pretty popular in the audiobook world, as she's done a number of the books I've listened to recently.

The story is fast paced and from the first page, it's a race to get to the finish line. Be swept up by a gripping investigation story, be filled with awe by all the special abilities you find yourself surrounded with. But mostly be prepared to be offended

There is an interesting premise and good characterization. The book was good, but not good enough to get me to read the next two in the trilogy.

Oh, what a delightful read. I won the book via Patti Phillips's Nightstand Book Reviews newsletter and wasn't quite sure what to expect because I had never heard of the author. When I started I just wanted to read a couple of pages to get an idea of how Rysa Walker writes... and read half of the book in one go. Anna Morgan the main character directly drew me into the story because she cares deeply about the people she loves but has to deal with a fate that keeps her apart from most of her peers. I could fully understand where she came from and I love a good old conspiracy supernatural story. When it is full of suspense and romance on top then my delight is even bigger.

Rysa Walker knows how to create characters which make you care about the goodies and loathe the baddies. But they are not flat characters. You sometimes rip your hair out about the stupid decisions of the nice characters make while you can feel for the baddies at times. Not too often though. They are rather nasty.

There is never a boring moment in the storyline: From the moment Anna tries to convince one of her ghostly inhabitant's grandfather that she really talks about Molly towards the end when she can save her friend and flee a secret military compound testing children with special abilities. You get a little rest here and there just enough to go to the next suspense high.

The story plays in today's US and seems fully believable to me. I believe there are things science can't explain yet but tries to do and is happy to cover up so the general public doesn't get the heeby-jeebies. Yes, stupid old conspiracy theories but hey they do give you a great read.

I can't really compare Walkers style with any other author I've read before. She has a wonderfully unique way of bringing the supernatural together with enticing characters and a storyline that makes you bite your nails. If you like supernatural suspense with a good dollop of romance this one is for you. I can't wait to get my hands on the other two parts.

Loved this first book in the latest series by Rysa Walker! It was hard to put down. It begins when a girl named Anna is troubled by the ghost of a girl who was murdered. Anna has the ability to hear and communicate with ghosts and this has caused problems her whole life. She was abandoned at three and has gone from foster home to foster home. This latest ghost wants Anna to tell her grandfather who murdered her. Unfortunately, as Anna delves deeper into the mystery, her own life and the lives of her friends are put in danger.

The story was compelling and the characters were likable. The villains are the type that you love to hate. I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I'd recommend this for older teens because some of the material is violent and disturbing.

Entertaining

My first read from this author. It was very enjoyable and entertaining. Not my typical genre preference but was a nice change. Will be completing the trilogy
