I couldn't finish this book quick enough. Too many characters, none of which were likeable, and it just didn't make any sense. The ending was far too convoluted and I was frustrated the entire time. If it wasn't such a short book I probably would have let this one go before finishing it.

I thought this was a horror story, but no.
The mystery was what I liked, not too heavy and I really like the clean resolution of the story.
The ending was good and satisfying for a less than 200 page book.

I don't really like the main character from this story, Meg, she kind of too good to be true and she is too innocent for a high schooler, in my opinion.

She's trusting other people just a bit too much, especially her boyfriend, which his dad dislike.

I didn't enjoy this Fear Street installment as much as the previous book. Meg (the MC) was a little insufferable and the dialogue was *so* clunky, awkward, and cheesy (in the worst ways). This book is also a little slower, though once the action does pick up it's fun. The bad guys are mustache twirling villains in the best cheesy 90s way possible, but they definitely made my eyes roll a bit.

I did enjoy seeing Cory and Lisa again, though their characterizations both changed in weird ways from the first book.

Kicking off a summer of Fear by (re-)reading the Fear Street series. The characters aren't terribly likeable, but the murder mystery plot is ok.

I'm sorry, and it might just be me, but this story was painfully predictable. I love Fear Street, as ridiculous as they are, but this one was too much.
Spoiler Mentioning details like Mike looking identical to Evan, Dwayne wanting Evan out of the way, and Tony being revealed as the murderer way too early were all really obvious clues and I guessed the ending halfway through the book. I promise, this is not a bragging point, but just meant to show that the story and "twists" were super obvious.
All in all, this wasn't my favorite Fear Street book, but I'll keep reading (and rereading) for the nostalgia.

Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. The twists were good and it was a fun and fast paced read with good twists and turns through out the story. It had me wondering... "why can't we just get a straight adaptation of anything these days?" they just slap a popular franchise name on something without staying true to the source material.

I don't understand the dislike for Meg in the reviews. She was a better leading lady than the girls in the Fear Street movies, or at least just as obnoxious as they were and much better than most of the leading ladies in the stories we're subjected to today.

Anyway. I'm actually reading this series in the compilation book since my local library doesn't have the individual books anymore.
