It's won my heart!!
Every issue of Heartstopper has been some of the best reading I've done in my life, all 5 stars, but if I could rate volume 4 infinity stars, I would.
Lots of important topics discussed in this volume, in a safe but realistic and digestible way. Prepare to cry!
Really lovely series with really lovely characters and I'm very excited to meet them all again in volume 5 and see what they've been up to.

The most emotional volume so far. The way the author handles more serious topics like mental illness is nuanced, honest, and comforting in a way.

I've yet to see a book properly handle the subject of (possible trigger)
eating disorders and mental illness among young men
with the level of tact and care that's required when discussing the topic. All this in Oseman's lovely drawing style and incredibly real characterization. Cannot recommend this book enough to those who are prepared to read it!

Beautifully done!! Alice makes difficult topics not something of a breeze and shows they are definitely not easy to navigate, but they aren’t impossible.

There is support for mental  illness, and that romantic love isn’t a cure. Sure, it helps sometimes, but you can’t fix someone with it and you can’t do it yourself and try to hold someone who is suffering up when they don’t want to be held in the first place.

This book definitely goes deeper for both boys and their relationship. I’m very excited to see how the next and final book goes for the two of them!

The first two books were so wholesome and reminded me a lot of my queer experiences growing up making me feel so  s e e n !

While the last two have also but in a much different way. I’m currently learning more about my own mental health and things like OCD so this has given me more space to explore that with Charlie.

Overall, a beautiful book and series! Definitely one I plan to reread many times in my life! Excited for the final volume!! :D

I found this volume to be much more challenging than the other three. We learn so much more about the two characters' personal lives and there is a heavy focus on mental health-- it's the main theme of this novel and I think it is expertly done. Once again, Oseman does a great job representing different queer identities. I'm anticipating the next addition and super excited for the Netflix show!
