I thought the author is handing the hard topics of mental health, self harm and eating disorders well. I didn't like the flashback aspect of this book as much but I understand why it happened this way.
I love Charlie's sister and nicks mom so much!

While this volume in the beloved series has the same Nick and Charlie content we have come to love, it also dives into some deeper topics. Again, where Charlie is at is so applicable to what teens go through. This gives it words and a stage that make it easy to understand and feel like you're not alone. For me, this volume dropped one stare because I found the journals told us what happened, rather than showing us. I personally felt a show, not tell would have hit the mark better. I still absolutely loved it though.
