I was in the mood for a fun hockey romance and this was exactly what I was looking for. There’s so many college hockey romances out there it was a lot of fun to read one with professional hockey. Maven and Vince were cute, strangers that meet one night at a gala and then end up having to spend a bunch of time together since she’s helping run social media for the company she works for and he’s the focus for the page. There’s a bit of push and pull between them that ends up in a friend with benefits situation. Kandi is always so good at writing hot spicy scenes as well.
Only thing I didn’t love was how there were multiple times where Vince got jealous (irrationally so in my opinion) which lead to him acting out and trying to make Maven jealous by getting close to other women. I love a good jealously moment, but didn’t love how it played out here.
I’m excited to keep reading the series. The next one should be fun, but I’ll be waiting for Daddy P for sure!
“You have me so fucked up, Maven. Every waking hour, every waking minute of my life is wrecked by thoughts of you. You are so deep-seated in my mind, in my being. I will never be rid of you.”

After seeing all the reviews for Learn Your Lesson, I knew I had to jump into the Kings of the Ice series - I'm one of those people who like to read a series in order, even if they are interconnected standalones. And I am so glad I did because Meet Your Match by Kandi Steiner had all the elements I loved. It's a pro hockey romance that is full of heart and spice. The premise is more than far fetched, allowing the FMC Maven 24/7 access to rookie Vince for a social media campaign. But outside of that, the chemistry between the two is pure fire.
Vince is a playboy with a hidden heart of gold. Maven is a quick-witted, career driven, independent woman who has been burned by a pro athlete in the past. Put them together with some forced proximity, a workplace relationship and some instant attraction and you have a great read that'll make your temperature rise while squeezing your heart a bit.
Overall, this book is fun and the balance between spice and emotion is perfect. It's a great way to kick off this series and introduce the other members of the team which I hope we get to all their stories in the future. Next in this series revolves around Jaxson and Vince's sister Grace and I am jumping right in next.
Also, I listened to this on audio and really loved the performance. Plus it's in duet!

Tropes:
Well I have read the whole series now.
The other 2 are still my favorite, this one felt semi forced. Also are they supposed to be "enemies to lovers"? I feel like people slap that trope on books, but don't actually mean it. To me enemies to lovers= they don't like each other at all at first, including like no instant attraction.
Solid 3.5 star read though.

What I love best about Kandi's work is when she decides to go all in, she goes ALL in. She decided to do a hockey series, and I felt like I was there, involved and behind the scenes of a real hockey player and team. She did her research and it shows in the best way possible! I absolutely loved the concept of this book. Following the hotshot rookie of a team 24/7, getting to understand the inner workings of not only his team life but personal life, created a story that immersed you so fully I could not get enough. Now, onto Maven and Vince. Mind blown. The tension, the heat! These two were just off the charts on fire. I could not get enough of the dynamics between these two and they had me glued to the pages begging for more. If you're worried because you don't like/follow hockey, all I can say is that it is so much than just a hockey story and to give it a try because although I am a fan of hockey, this book would have made me one if I wasn't! I cannot wait for what's next in this new series!

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and now I’m going to be diving in to their backlist and devouring everything I can because I loved this one!
Okay Kandi I see you!! Coming in hot with that hockey romance.
This was so freaking good. I loved every second of it.
We get dual POV from Maven and Vince as they navigate their working relationship. Vince our hot shot rookie player and Maven just trying to figure out her career path, she gets assigned to following Vince around 24/7 to promote him and bring the team publicity. Of course being around each other is going to cause some sparks to fly.
I really enjoyed Maven and Vince relationship. Though she has some past baggage she is dealing with, Maven is a strong willed, independent, take no shit woman. I absolutely loved her character. Sometimes her insecurities were a bit ehh, but until you are in that position how do you know how you would really feel.
Vince.. what else can I say but holy hell. That mouth on that dude. He was sexy, playful, protective. He is every girls favorite hockey player but with a really soft caring side. But man.. he was dirty and I loved it!
Over all I 100% recommend this book. It was a quick and fun read.
Thank you Valentine and Kandi for the review copy!
