I read this book in February of 2024. Then I listened to the audio version a few months later and still loved the story. This series is so great. It doesn't have to be read in order but I recommend reading them all, in order, to fully love the depth of each character throughout the series.
Maven works for the Tampa Bae Babes, covering the Tampa Bay sports teams. While this area of expertise wasn't her thing, she was doing something she enjoyed with social media. Her first assignment was to cover a gala for the local professional sports team. Maven finds herself disliking a vase that's up for auction, calling it "The Most Heinous Vase Ever Created." It just so happened she was voicing this opinion to Vince Tanev, the person that created the piece of art.
Days later, Maven is approached by the founders of Tampa Bae Babes, pitching to her the idea of creating media buzz for the local hockey team, the Ospreys. She would have 24 hour access to none other than Vince Tanev. After a lot of consideration, Maven accepts the opportunity.
While following Vince around, Maven learns who he really is. He's not just a playboy but rather someone that cares a lot for others. The close proximity results in feelings between the two. Unfortunately, Maven was burned by her ex-boyfriend. She found a lot of similarities between her ex and Vince. After finding out about her past, Vince makes it his goal to change her view of him.
These two were so cute. I loved the way they came together. Vince is the kind of guy that melts your heart. He's the sweetest thing ever. Maven's free spirit is something I'd love to have.
The FMC, Maven is so terrible. She had an ex boyfriend who came form a rich family and did her wrong so now everyone who comes from money is the worst.
She is assuming people are awful until proven otherwise if she thinks they have money. People only give back to the community for better PR. Awful person. DNF @ 10%.

As much as I love hockey romances, they can be a hit or miss for me. I always go into one hoping for the best, but always a little nervous that it isn't going to hit the mark for me. I didn't have to worry about that with this one
