Kandi has gifted us fantastic new characters, teammates and sultry nights filled with spice and delicious angsty tension in this new series, as Meet Your Match starts us off with a slap shot!
Vince Tanev is a golden boy rookie whose smirk made me swoon and want to go buy all the jerseys available, as well as a kiln and clay kits. I absolutely adore the relationship he has with his family, and the fact that he’s so grounded in that strong foundation was endearing.
He is full of surprises, and his generous heart, romantic tendencies and playful attitude left me wanting more, more, more.
Maven is a sassy goddess, who was so relatable when she allowed her insecurities and past experiences to lend doubt and credence to her not being enough, and by getting in her own way. I think most women have felt self doubt in relationships, and inklings of imposter syndrome when it comes to our careers. It was refreshing to see those same issues play out in an otherwise strong and confident character. It just goes to show that even when we see others who seemingly have it all together, the elements of humanity and vulnerability are always present. Seeing her character overcome these hurdles and confidently go after who,and what she wanted, made me cheer!
It should also be noted that the other key players in the story, i.e. The teammates on the Osprey’s, and the extended family and friends of the main characters were all so well developed and introduced in a way that made me extremely curious about each and every one of them as individuals. That’s so hard to do when beginning a new story, but it was done effortlessly in this book, and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Kandi is one of my favorite authors. I own every book she has out. This one maybe one of my favorite. Mavin and Vince couldn’t be more different. This is a great reminder to not judge a book by its cover or to lump people together in one category before you know anything about them. ❤️ I’m so ready for Daddy P’s book! This was my second go of this book except this time i listened to the audio, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
I have discovered that I’m a sucker for a good hockey romance, and this one did not disappoint! Maven may have an aversion to athletes, but Vince might just make her change her mind. I was sucked in to the story and could not put it down.
woah one of my new favorite sports romances! definitely up there hockey-wise. mavenvince served like no other! maven’s character was so different than one i had read about with her interests. i loved the bohemian vibe and how much she cared about her community. vince was a whole meal. they had so many sweet wholesome moments and i loved how deep vince was, not just a hockey jock. i really started to love the found family and friend group of this series. some moments had me flat out laughing out loud! vince definitely proved her maven about the type of guy he is each and every time with his acts of service! don’t even get me started on his mouth

I don’t have words to review this book because phenomenal. This was my first Kandi Steiner read and it has led me to place many of her books on my TBR list. Hockey Romance trope is always the best
