Another fun Artemis Fowl book. Entertaining. Wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next.
Not a bad book, Artemis is becoming better; the beginning dynamic between him and Holly is annoying but the time component makes it interesting.
Rating: 4.5/5
I first began this series purely because I never read it as a kid. It was enjoyable enough, so I kept reading...
BUT THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK HAS CHANGED IT ALL. Why couldn't all of the books be this exciting? This full of plot twists? I kept thinking I knew where it was going only to have a big WRONG stamp come down on me a chapter later! And so here I am, acknowledging what is hands-down the best book in the series so far. Crossed fingers the last two will keep it up.

“Who are you?" he asked.
I am the future queen of this world, at the very least. You may refer to me as Mistress Koboi for the next five minutes. After that you may refer to me as Aaaaarrrrgh, hold your throat, die screaming, and so on.”
This was the first Artemis Fowl installment that I wasn't crazy about. The quality, in my opinion, dropped quite a bit. The plot - going back in time to save a lemur that would hopefully heal Artemis's mother - was quite lacking. Despite the somewhat uninteresting plot, I still enjoyed the book and will be continuing on to the last two books.

Maybe it's just me, but Opal is really not that interesting of a villain.
Overall, slightly better than 5, and much more memorable. I remembered almost nothing from 5 from when I read the series 10 years ago, but I remembered a lot from 6. I did not remember any of the time travel stuff, or young Artemis, or the lemur, but I did remember the extinctionist and them trying to execute Holly before Artemis "reveals" that she is actually just a little girl.
Honestly, the extinctionists are such despicable villains that they overshadow Opal, despite her being the series antagonist. And, of course, young asshole Artemis overshadows the extinctionists, because the villains in this series are never as fun or interesting as the protagonists.
Alright. Now, if I'm not mistaken, the next book should be the one that I never finished reading when I started the series 10 years ago, so I should start to thread reliatively new territories from now on.
