I really liked this book! The concept was so interesting and unique. I felt the characters were well developed and the pacing was great. It kept me interested the entire time and made me really want to find out what happens in the next book due to the massive cliffhanger at the end.

I will admit, I did not have high expectations for this book. I thought it was going to be a typical paranormal romance. In many ways it was. But in many more ways it was different. That's what made me appreciate the book more.

This is one of the few books lately that gave me a feeling of 'Wow. I just finished a great book'. I used to get that all the time when I was younger. I haven't gotten it a lot lately. Mostly when I finish a book, I just dive straight into another. EVERNEATH made me think about what I just read and gave me a smile. It made me want to write a review. While this does have its faults, it was a very enjoyable story overall.

One of the best parts of this book was the author's way of blending myths with her own story. There was a well written balance. Egyptian and Greek myths blend in smoothly with the world of the Everliving. Brodi Ashton did a very good job of creating her own story while incorporating other things.

Another part I liked was that there was no obvious love triangle. Nikki knows who she likes and doesn't waver just because hot bad-boy Cole comes along. Jack and Nikki's romance was cute but also got annoying at times. It reminds me of relationships at my school.

Nikki Returned from Everneath so she could properly say goodbye to her friends and family. In reality she just spent most of her time in seclusion and moping about Jack. I just hope she makes more of an effort to reconnect with her father, Tommy, and Jules in the next book. When she's not blushing of course. Nikki spends about 80% of the book blushing because Jack said something. It gets annoying.

I should probably stop rambling now. If you like a creative world with a lot of romance and adventure, than this is for you.

war genauso toll wie beim ersten Mal*-* jetzt noch schnell den 2. Teil lesen und dann kann ich den letzten Band ohne Verwirrungen lesen^^

Better than I expected, I have to say. There were a few moments where I felt that the story was a little forced but it was never for very long and it always picked up. I do think that parts of it could have been fleshed out a bit, i.e. Jules' and Max's characters, but a good story nonetheless.

REVIEW:
Everneath by Brodi Ashton really did a number on me with pulling on my emotional side. This was a first for me where in the end no one really wins, it’s only the beginning of the next test in a way. Everneath follows closely to the mythology of the goddess Persephone and Hades, it’s a take on what really is true about the myth and the darkness that lies ahead for the lead characters. The re-telling of this myth has been done many times before and I’ve enjoyed them all in their own way, but Everneath was definitely a step up.

Everlings are known for taking innocent women down to the Everneath, where they feed of the life source for over a 100 years or six months above in the real world. All Everlings are male because if a female were ever to survive the Queen would feel threatened that the girl would try and steal the thrown. Thus begins the journey for Nikki a young girl who disappears for six months in the Everneath and actually survives the Feed, she’s the first one every to live. Nikki left behind her family, but it was her boyfriend who suffered the most. Now she wants to redeem herself and make amends before she has to leave her world again and this time for forever.

Nikki has only six months to say good-bye again to everyone she loves abut along for the ride is the Everling that feed off her. Cole is a sharp stick in Nikki’s side; he refuses to let her be taken away from him. Their relationship really intrigued me because usually the tall dark and handsome guy is what the girl wants but this time around the girl wants her past love and past life. I really enjoy a book that takes a new twist to the romance.
Overall I enjoyed this book not only for the mythology, but for the determination Nikki has to find a way to make amends and even if she looses she was able to see everyone one last time. The first half of the book runs a slower route but once you hit the second half its all pretty much like holding your breath. Ashton really pulled a fast one on me at the end, but it created a new beginning that leads into the second book. I highly recommend this novel to paranormal, mythology, and romance lovers.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult novel that carries a darker tone that most mythology retellings. Fans of the Goddess Test by Aimee Carter and A Mythos Academy Series by Jennifer Estep will be sucked into the world created by Brodi Ashton.
adventurous dark emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced

I loved it~! is it weird that i love Cole as well as Jack?

It takes at least half the book if not the whole thing to actually figure out what's going on, but an enjoyable read nonetheless!

Considering it's a YA pararomance novel it was incredibly refreshing to not have multiple pages on how hot the bad guy was or how they all looked because I feel like that's all that most of them are these days!

Good to see that that the protagonist didn't actually pick the bad guy for once either. Solid story, hopefully the next one isn't as confusing!

Started off way too slow. But it did pick up and get interesting. There could have been so much more character development than just Nikki. The overall idea was good but it wasn't executed that well. 2 stars.

I really enjoyed the book! It is written base on Orpheus and Eurydice myth instead of normal Greek myth that normally includes the 3 "big" gods (*Zeus, Poseidon and Hades*). Well....the story did touched a little on Hades. I wasn't expecting it to be a "Greek-myth" related book though (*when I bought it*).

I really really like Jack <3
He still loved Nikki despite the fact that she when missing for 6 months and was suspected for taking drugs! Who wouldn't want such a sweet and loving boyfriend/guy.
As for the other guy in this book, Cole....he sounds cold to me. I have the same feeling as Nikki as she is continuously bugged by Cole. God...how I wish I can kick his ass.

Overall, its a nice book and its worth reading for those who love Greek mythology.
