I learned so much reading this book! The womb is not a passive empty vessal, but rather a force in a woman's body. Definitely worth a read if you own one, love someone with one, came from one.

I really liked this!!!

A lot of great information and interesting discussions. I found the chapters looking to the future of reproduction particularly fascinating, and I appreciated the thoughtful commentary on how our reproductive systems can be used as a weapon against us. Also, gentle cesarean? What an interesting topic that I don’t think I would have heard of elsewhere. Overall, this book certainly provided a lot of food for thought.

There were some points where I would have loved to have the author interrogate a point more rather than just briefly explain what her interviewee told her. For example, at one point, an interviewee claims we are having hundreds of more periods in our life times than we are evolutionarily designed to do. And….and I can’t really tell you the consequence of this, other than the interviewee implied it was negative.

Other than small points like that, I truly found this book to be so revelatory. I find myself to be very squeamish most the time and was a bit hesitant going into this book for fear that I would be very uncomfortable by any descriptions. But the amount of conversations the author has in such a short time is actually quite incredible. Truly, I’ve never learned so much about such an important organ.
