I really enjoyed the first book in this duology, so I picked up the next one while the world was fresh in my mind. I think Heilig is an especially exact writer. She has an ability to pinpoint the exact shade of a feeling and communicate it so sharply and succinctly. Her romance writing is also really well done and never felt cheesy. I did struggle to keep up with the plot though. The time travel and all its intricacies got extremely complicated. Time lines crossed and recrossed all over the place. It didn’t stop me from enjoying the ride, but maybe this would have been more successful for me reading in print rather than listening. The narrators were good though! The first book just has one POV, and in this one, we get two. That was an interesting addition I don’t see that often!
