What a beautiful book (inside and out). I love the retellings/reimaginings, and Circe was one I didn't know much about. You know a book is good when you keep thinking about it and it makes you want to do your own research. The locations were so vividly portrayed, I could imagine being there. I enjoyed the exploration of witchcraft, divinity, and immortality. I was rooting for Circe, and loved her as a character. There are just so many good things to say about this book, and although it took me a little while to read, it wasn't because of flaws, it was because I was thinking about and unpacking things all the time. This will keep me thinking for some time.

This was a wonderful tale from beginning to end. Circe's development, in her character and in her adventures, were interesting to read through. I've always loved reading about these myths, and it was great to see it done in this way through a perspective I haven't read much through.
Although it was a great book, I find that because it's tone was through a sort of retelling un third person, I personally couldnt feel as conn3cted to the characters as I wanted to. I recognize that may be the aim of it, but yep.
I loved the way writing really just pulled you in, the way it's described truly makes you feel as if you're watching the story from up close. Would recommend to anyone fancying a story on myths and legends.

This was a slow starter for me. The writing is gorgeous and the storytelling is wonderfully imaginative. But for at least the first half, it felt like a collection of stories with barely any narrative arc to connect them, so I found this easy to put down and not always tempting to pick back up. It does eventually become more cohesive and builds to a satisfying conclusion.
