Anouilh wastes too many words where none is necessary, yet I do not blame poor Antigone - if i had to sit through another of Creon's endless monologues, I would have also begged to be put out of my misery.

I really enjoyed this retelling of Sophocles' "Antigone". Anouilh uses some very poetic language, and the characterization makes you wonder who the victim really is: Creon or Antigone?
