Readers finally get to see the raider's side of things, and Mayne introduces us to a slew of more characters, some of whom get their own books eventually. I'm enjoying how much overlap and foreshadowing there is in all of the books so far. Mayne does a good job of building on the story and background of the world from one installment to the next.
The two MCs with their gentle personalities are très adorable together. Mayne consistently writes relatably flawed characters, and I dig it. I especially like how Mayne handled the big reveal of the Rycke's other side. Readers already know the Rycke to be one of the most fearsome monsters based on information from the previous books, but I admit the final transformation from the soft, sweet Aury to the other thing still shocked me.
Overall, this book is a nice addition to the series and one that sets us up nicely for the fourth book.

This was the cutest Monster MM story. Love when the MC is this gentil persona that will get its claw out for his love, friends, home.
The world building is a bit more realistic and their travels through it always make me want to "explore" more of it.

What a agony of a book! 😭😭😭😚😚💔😫💕🪄☺️🥰☺️. I love Aury and Ghost, they make me so soft and warm inside 💠💠. Like Airy is a such a softbean but he gets all protective over Ghost and it's adorable 😍🥰. I am so intrigued by the new characters, like what is going on with Rig and the new beastie. What up with Moth??. Also Ghost is such a interesting character, like he starts kinda muted but slowly reveals his worrisome side, his martyrdom. I loved Anchor and I was so said for her because I know that Cat is alive and well ❤️🩹❤️🩹.
