The Rycke.. The monster the monsters fear… the monster of legends. The monster I fell in love with!

We have heard about the Rycke in books one and two, and finally we get to meet him! He was adorably sweet, damaged, and dangerous! A fantastic character!
Ghost, is a raider that is often sent on missions where stealth is a necessity… in and out, invisibile… that’s ghost. Until he and his buddy Rig are savaging the military base in Nebraska and they come across a broken, beaten and battered monster still in chains… What should they do? You guessed it folks, they bring it home and help him.
I will have to admit, I was really confused during the first few chapters of the book. The author used the “they/them” pronouns to refer to the Rycke, which I am to assume was to make a point that Ghost and Rig can’t assume the monster’s gender… but I had no idea that was happening… I thought there were suddenly two monsters or the monster had two heads. It wasn’t until chapter 16, when I think the doctor said he identified as a him did I finally understand what was happening. I appreciate what the author was trying to do, but IMO it wasn’t clear in the beginning and it caused me confusion.
The Rycke was a kind, broken monster... So why are all the monsters afraid of him? Well, you'll have to wait and see... Even after we discover the truth, I still adore that monster! These monsters have wormed their way into my heart, and I feel for them, and Rycke's insecurities and history have made him even more intriguing to me. Both Ghost and Rycke have their own struggles, and each begins to heal the other in this slow-burning, lovely romance.
Once again, there are evil characters and underlying plots that left me wanting more. I need to know more about Cat, Rig, Mary, and the military. I just need so much more! I'm really enjoying this monster-filled world that is chock full of secrets, monsters, and danger, and I can't wait for more books in this series! This book and series gets my recommendation!

I didn't think I would like a couple better than Wyn and Danny, but Gage and Aury are top tier! Each story is so amazing, this author is truly gifted. I cannot WAIT to get to Moth's story!!

Overall I loved this couple but their journey and relationship development was pretty easy going. Still loved it though and look forward to seeing more from these other characters!! ❤️

Muito boa a história do rycke e do ghost, um pouco frustrante só a busca incansável pelo Cat que está na prisão de lutadores e nem um sinal dele. Apesar de por um momento eu ter pensado que o ghost fosse ir parar na fazenda do edin onde ele ia conseguir informações importantes a tal da mensagem que o cat mandou....porém não né
Muito interessante a transformação e toda a história do rycke, como espécie e todo o passado dos demais ryckes e o renascimento até mesmo a morte que ele escolhe o momento.
Foi introduzido outros personagens que serão importantes no futuro como a Mary e o aytorin que presumo ser do livro gloam, lilac que com certeza terá seu livro no futuro e o moth o curioso meio humano meio monstro, como isso foi acontecer estou super curioso
