Fun, easy quick read, just like old times. Re-reading this as a “grown up” i realized they’re literally kids doing the wildest things? Do we let our kids go off to some island for a few days?! Also what happened to the inglots?? Did the police even check i cant live my life like this

My first introduction to 'Famous Five' had been through a video game (based on this book), and the first thought to pop into my mind as I read through the pages was - "They are so young". That aside, this book is a delight. It was really interesting to see how the group came to be, how George (and Tim !!!) bonded with the rest of the kids. A beautiful adventure, children being children and a healthy dose of nostalgia make it the perfect companion for a lazy afternoon.

I was shocked reading this as I found it some what enjoyable despite not being the biggest fan of Blyton. This is most likely due to having areas of study in mind whilst reading. At first I did find the writing style and protrayal of the characters abit pretentious, due to the time period written and set in, but as the story progressed that aspects did die down. I liked the progress of Georgina 'George'  accepting her cousins and creating a friendship which affecting each other. The last couple chapters were my favourite I enjoyed the pace as well as the tension that was throughout, as well as the ending, which I expected, but was a sweet ending for a children's book.
