“Becoming a mother isn’t about securing your own happiness. It’s about taking the chance of being terrified and even devastated for the sake of a child.”

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I’m going to be perfectly candid when I say that I initially went into this book absolutely despising it. It felt overly simplistic and I almost gave up due to the fact that it felt like an elongated essay filling in gaps from the series. However, the more I read, the more I realised how beautiful this short story was and that things do not need to be complex in order to be good.

This book is the ending of a five book series, and it connects all the previous characters in the most stunning way possible. In the previous books, we’ve learnt that Six and Daniel have a kid together, but that kid was put up for adoption. Worst of all, the adoption was closed essentially meaning they legally cannot enter their child’s life. However, after noticing the negative and dejecting alteration in Six’s regular demeanor, Daniel takes it upon himself to fight for their child- for even the slightest iota of an indication that he is content. Holding on to the most diminutive of chances and opportunities, he frantically makes phone calls until he may have found success. How will it work out? And will this conclusion add the wonderful ending all the couples deserve?

I adore Graham and Quinn so much; their love is so pure. Fun fact: they’re my favourite book couple ever written :) Reading about them receiving the happy ending they always deserved filled me with joy and helped recuperate the hole ‘All your perfects’ left in my heart. Knowing what I now know, I’d love to re-read ‘All your perfects’ but with less heartache and melancholy. This novella felt like the perfect ending and beginning; it was so immensely heartwarming. The likability of the main characters added to what made this book so enjoyable for me. Would I consider this book a literary masterpiece? No. But did I enjoy it nonetheless? Yes! It was the most flawless ending to a mostly saddening series of books.
