I have just discovered Neil Gaimen's writing for adults. I cannot get enough of him at the moment and I am reading his children's stuff now simply to enjoy more of his writing.

Neverwhere is set in London but the London of your imagination. There is a quest and an angel and lots of magic but it is also funny and down to earth. Couldn't put it down.

This is the fourth Gaiman book I've read. I enjoyed the whimsical juxtaposed with the gritty. It is very theatrical and I could envision the settings quite easily even if I've never been to London.
