This is a cute slow-burn romance with fake dating involved. I enjoyed Malakai and Kiki's chemistry and love story unfolding. I just realized for me, it dragged out a bit too much for my taste at times. Some of the themes in the book just wasn't for me personally, like a college setting for example. That's nothing against the story, just solely on my own preferences. There were still so many positives I enjoyed about this story and the writing style was truly beautiful the way the author describes how each character is feeling and thinking.
I also loved the sisterhood & support between the female characters. Felt so empowering and uplifting, especially the way they were there for each other during their hardest moments. We could all use friend's like that! I overall recommend reading this.

I wanted to enjoy this, but it just didn't work for me in plot or characters, and the style felt frenetic and was difficult for me to engage with. Not for me, which made me a bit sad as I'd heard good things.
