I enjoyed this one. I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, Evita and Ryan, it was believable and I liked how it all developed. Overall, I recommend if you enjoy a fun rom-com.

This book was very cute. I loved how much they managed to pack into a week and how much the author made you feel for these characters over such a short period of time. Ryan and Evita are very cute and I just loved it but I wish I’d have gotten more from it.

This book read like a random romance movie on Netflix/Hulu. It wasn’t bad, it was even cute at times too and I liked the warring family premise with their son/daughter in love.

But it wasn’t very daring. And I was a little disappointed there wasn’t any sexy scenes in the book, Ryan reeeeally felt like he was holding that back. And after 6 months when they finally marry? They just insinuate they were saving for marriage which was kind of a turn off for me in this book.

Anyway, it was cute and fluffy, but probably won’t stick with me like romcoms I’ve read this year. Also Mr. Hatfield (Ryan’s dad) was  🔛🔝 fr.

Their parents hate each other, they are reconnecting during the summer when both families get double booked at a beach house, what could go wrong? Apparently just about everything.

The premise of this book sounded so good and I expected a lot of build up and chemistry but unfortunately it was never delivered. This one just couldn’t keep my attention and found myself having to push through to try to finish it. There were a few funny parts or sweet moments but overall a pretty flat story.

Hopeful, predictable, clean contemporary romance. I do not like when adults have conflict that seems unbelievable. Most enemies are civil in person and the scenerio the two families found themselves in was absurd. But you know what to expect when you pick up a book like this. I think I would have liked it better if I'd read it, as opposed to listening, since i didn'  love the narrator. But it was cute and had a sayisfying epilogue.

Quick Summary: Cuteness personified

My Review: Right Girl, Wrong Side by Ginny Baird was utterly sweet! I adored this delightful multicultural romance. It was so funny, while at the same time, it dealt with some pretty serious perceptions and familial issues.

What I Loved: (vague commentary so as to avoid spoilers)

- I loved the little nod to Romeo and Juliet.

- I loved the contrasting play between the Hatfields versus the Machados. They were so different and yet similar.

- I loved all of the relationships that were represented.

- I loved how each family was challenged to grow beyond their own misplaced expectations and wrong assumptions.

- I loved how Evita and Ryan took a stand and became more assertive.

- I loved and appreciated the emotional rollercoaster that worked its way through this story. It kept the tension going and served up some great and ridiculous conflicts.

- I loved that there were a number of life lessons that could be taken away.

My Favorite Scenes: (coded to avoid spoilers)

- Projectile Evacuations
- Prom Dreams
- The Getaway
- Oh Baby!
- Water Play and Roses
- Eww...I Don't Even Want to Know
- Star-Crossed
- Learning How to Have a Good Time with Family

My Final Say: This was a wonderful read. The characters were colorful and real. The story was authentic. The featured romance was charming. I strongly recommend this book.
