The ending was really rushed ...

Series had lots of potential that went nowhere and no character development. The series was entertaining, but honestly, I was lost 70% of the time they tried to explain what was going to happen / what had happened during time traveling. I felt like Gwen never did really find anything out until the last couple chapters in the book. The entire book was mostly going in circles about how she felt about Gideon. She never actually decided to take control of her situation. In the first two books, Gwen practically learned nothing about the Count's plan and everything was oh soooo vague. The only good character was Xemerius, his commentary was the best throughout the books.

Also I could've completely misunderstood, but I thought they could not time travel within their own life and could only time travel to the time before they were born...so confusing...

Teen book club agrees with me - this is just a fun series. Apparently I like German teen time-travel lit set in London. Looking forward to more translated books by Gier.

this series is crazy fun. I like that if falls into a lot of the YA tropes from the mid 2010s but subverts/acknowledges them. truly ahead of it's time in that sense.
