This was certainly different than anything I've ever read. The best word for it is haunting.

This book was truly interesting. The mystery surrounding the main character near the beginning of the book made me want to continue reading. And once she found the diary, I couldn't put down the book. I loved learning more of the history behind France's revolution and about some of the artifacts left behind. I definitely recommend this novel to someone who wants to read more about French history and is able to deal with a lot of cruel things that are dealt with in the book.

Favorite book, but very very sad. I was Andi and it didn’t stop when I turned 18. I still get too involved in books and cry when kids die. At least I get over it now and appreciate good things.

A little too much history at times...otherwise good! Sad

Didn’t understand anything

I am listening to this. So far on disc 5 and loving it! Andy can be a bit trying at times and I would like to be able to shake her, but her pain is authentic to her lose. I hate getting out of the car.

I really enjoyed the parallel tension of the time periods explored. From teen age rebellion to family relationship regret - well worth the read.
