I wish I had read this when I was younger! I love Alice with all my heart and I love the messages this book sends. The world was perfectly whimsical and terribly terrifying and I want more!

This was my first approach to Tahereh Mafi's writing and OH MY GOD IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I now want to read everything she's ever written.
The story itself is really adorable and the characters are very lovely and easy to fall in love with.
The world is also magical and I love how it has some Alice in Wonderland vibes (i mean it's a world with the weirdest rules so it's not hard to find some similarities between both).
Oh and can we talk about the cover??? It is not only gorgeous but after reading the book you realize what each of the different things have to do with the story.

Overall it is such a beautiful, very fast pased and easy to read story that I'd 100% recommend if you love middle grade fantasy books.

'Yellow and tangerine and violet and aquamarine. Every hue held a flavor, a heartbeat, a life. She took a deep breath and drew it all in.'
This story is written in a beautiful way and it's so visual that you could actual see the surroundings described in the book, smell the colorful flowers or even picture how an origami fox looks like. The story is very whimsical and it had similarities with 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland', but it also had many unique parts. As I read, it felt like the storyteller was well aware of everything that happens and had a big part in the story. I found it unique and credible.
Tahereh Mafi created a magical lively world, with adorable characters you end up loving, magical objects and a memorable story.

okay can I cry now :') ! I loved it so much really I did! Tahereh never stops to amaze me! it's just more than splendid! I loved how can you live with colors, colors everywhere, everything is lovely in those bright colors! actually the more I read the book the more I can imagine how colorful and beautiful it is ! the last chapters made me speechless I knew from the beginning of falling in the grey cell that's Alice father's cell! I felt it as I was the one who fell inside the cell! I loved the happy ending ,to be honest I thought that something tragic will happen and ruin the happy ending! I liked how Tahereh wanted to show us how much our parents love us, yes they might break your heart but no matter what would they do, they do for you only to make happy! it was great sacrifice from Alice father's to go furthermore to look for his daughter happiness! I was kinda confused about furthermore and yeah I didn't trust or like the people of the land of the left! the only one thing that surprised me is the seamstress!! " perhaps you should trust a friend who looks like one"! WICKED and lovely !!!!!!

What a heartwarming story! I don't know if it's strange but I loved Furthermore! I loved its nonsense and all the unique villages and places. Every time Alice and Oliver escaped from one challenge I was looking forward for the next. They were all so beautifully crafted.

It was really interesting how magic was based on colors. Also I was grateful that at the end of the book Alice didn't change like she had wanted at the beginning but learned to love herself.

This is going to be a very quick one because I'm boo boo the fool YET AGAIN reading a middle grade novel when I already knew I didn't vibe with them!

This book is an Alice in Wonderland retelling, with a young girl named Alice falling into the land Furthermore, in search of her father.

The writing was interesting, told in the style of the author personally telling the reader a story and it was fun enough. But it was (obviously) very young and bizarre and didn't work for me. This entire book is just endless nonsense after more nonsense all in the name of being quirky and wacky and I've never been a fan of actual nonsense. Meanwhile they kept saying how the MC and her friend were 12 years old and omg stop reminding me how much this book wasn't for me.
