This one was just ok. The hero and heroine were cute together, and the spice(aside from one scene I didn’t love but to each their own) was pretty good!
I will say I didn’t feel very connected to the romance. It was definitely lust and infatuation, but I wasn’t convinced there was much relationship building beyond that. I wasn’t a fan of how the heroine blamed herself for “giving up” after being upset the hero lied to her about staying out all night at a woman’s house. When the big conflict with his family came to a head it was resolved way too quickly and easily.

I didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did, which is foolish, because I loved The Doctor. Excuse me while I contemplate potential hidden, internalised biases.

i wasn’t aware this series was going to be all smut haha! this book was okay. the music aspect was fun and obviously the smut was smutting, but again, something about reading about a 40 year old woman having sex just feels icky haha

This was a palette cleanser of sorts after reading a pretty heavy book and it was just ok for me. I didn’t really care about any of the characters, and I was kind of rolling my eyes at the ludicrousness of Troy’s record deal. (I didn’t even know this was going to be about a guy who wants to be a singer… It’s called ‘The Pool Boy’ lol) Some of the steam was fun, some was meh… I don’t know.

TROY IS EVERYTHING. I loved this so much! I loved Erika and Troy together so much and the tie in with the music was so beautiful.
