Re read: keeping my rating. This time I read The Doctor first. I maintain the steam to plot ratio is off for me. But the steam is good. I like an age gap when the younger person isn't under 21. This had that and liked that it was a young MMC as well.

The second book by Nikki Sloane in the Nashville Neighborhood series. This book is for you if you're looking for an age-gap (where the female main character is older), a (new) celebrity, a forbidden, or a workplace romance. In my opinion, this book was pretty expected, but it's well written and the characters are engaging. We do get a brief appearance from the characters in the first Nashville Neighborhood series, which was fun, but I also liked that they didn't take up too much of the story and you didn't need to have read the first one for this one to make sense (though the plot of book one does come up at a few points). Overall, this book was a quick and fairly enjoyable read.

I truly thought I would like this one more than I did, but it just didn't deliver like this author's other books. I think this is my least favorite, and it ended on a big HFN instead of an HEA, which I hate. I also hate when the FMC has to apologize for anything, which is my own issue. The MMC was awesome though. He fell first and never deviated even once. We love to see it. All of these stars are for him and the spice.

Worth the read

I really enjoyed this book. I'm so use to it being older man younger woman that this was soooo refreshing. I loved the power dynamic they had with each other.
