I had a rough week. I was sick and in a lot of pain and therefore I asked in a Reversed Harem group for recommendations. When I mentioned that I was totally into royals and fantasy, this was the book that was named the most and luckily for me, Amazon had a one day delivery. So yesterday it arrived at my doorstep and today I could start reading right away.

And this was indeed exactly the kind of book I wanted and had asked for. It was an easy and quick read with characters that were not that layered or complicated, but were just interesting enough to keep my attention and to make me like them and warm up to them. The three princes are all very different and I guess that's exactly the power of this book and what will make this harem in the end (I totally trust the author that we will get it) work.

There are a couple of reveals, some revealed in this book and some certainly still to come, that are not that unpredictable. I personally had the impression that they weren't meant to be unexpected. I like this kind of irony and drama, where we as a reader know something, but characters don't piece it together because to them it seems very unlikely.

What this book however did absolutely perfectly was creating a certain kind of longing in me, the reader. Every time something steamy was about to happen, the scene was interrupted, but it was that waiting and waiting and waiting and eventually being rewarded (at least partly) in the end that really made this work for me.

O, and there was also a nice plot keeping my attention. There was danger, there was mystery, there was politics, intrigue and magic. I can't wait to see how everything will play out in the upcoming two books.

So, halfway reading the book I already ordered the next one and I can't wait for it to arrive!

I love all of Tate James’ books. I love that she has a fantasy series though. This main character is a bad ass bitch & she’s my favorite female lead she’s written so far. This series is also full of twists and surprises. Some of them are easy to guess. However, getting to see each trial is very interesting & how she overcomes them all is great. It’ll be a reverse harem, so I’m here for that when it gets there.

Loved it

There’s always something so satisfying to me when it comes to books about royalty. This story holds everything I love about them: the secrets, the lies, the games, the life or death consequences of your actions... and all the while it held your attention. I read this in one day, couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for the next book!

Had a blast reading this and stayed up hella late reading it haha. Is a lot of it hella predictable? Yes. But it’s still fun anyway. And the cliffhanger at the end omg. Had me jumping straight into the next book.
Do feel kinda weird that the mc is 18 but I’ve just mentally aged them up lmao.

Second time read & review

Just like the first time around, I crushed through this book. I loved absolutely everything about Rybet.. or should I call her Calla? I feel like this time around, I definitely knew more about what was going on. Perks of reread I guess?

That being said, I will continue to be super proud of myself for knowing who was who when it came to secret identities. I was freaking out when she realized it towards the end. I mean, she only knows about one guy.. but I'm sure she can put two and two together. Or at least I hope she can..

Overall, the ending got me once again. I seriously need to dive into the next book just so I can see what the hell these crazy kids are going to do to me next! I also really want certain people to die.. so super excited to see if that will or wont happen.

When Kit Davenport ended, I was sad. However, Kindle Unlimited surprised the heck outta me with this series. Kit will forever be in my heart but I can totally get on board with Rybet.

Imposter flew by. Maybe it's because it has been a while since a book from this author or if I just ended up actually enjoying this book. Rybet's character was just adorable. I loved her because she was a bad ass. A lady bad ass. Then there are the guys, oh drool worthy.

The princes, pretty mysterious and lovable. No, I wont tell you their names because I'm evil. I feel like I didn't get enough of them or about them. I want more and I seriously need the second book ASAP. Besides all of that, the trials kept me engaged. The romance, humor, and action had me tapping the little arrow button my kindle so many freaking times - I might've broke it (oops?).

Overall, I enjoyed the heck out of this book. It sucks that I have to wait until next month for book 2 but I guess I will enjoy the suffering.

Excited and addictive

Imposter was intriguing and new! I loved the storyline and the hilarious Ry. She is a kickass character that you instantly love! She finds herself posing as a lady in the Trials to become a bride for one of the three princes. There’s so much suspense and betrayal! Her guys are each Perfect and bring something different to the table. My favorite has to be Zan! I’m already a complete goner for this series! I can’t wait for the next book! I’m dying to know if my assumptions are correct!!
