This book was so FRAKKING AMAZING I can't get over it! If you're a nerd and you love laughing and happiness and all things fun then READ THIS BOOK.

Honestly, I can't find anything to complain about with this book because I was having such a good time reading it. I just wanted to become a genius and go hang out with the Mess kids and have a great time. All of the references were perfect, down to the inclusion of ORIGINAL STAR TREK (which is my kryptonite, if you didn't know), to Ben's likeness to David Tennant (my hero), the literature love (I fraking love the metaphorcal significance of the train in Anna Karenina), and a blink-and-you'll-miss-it "ten points to Slytherin" quote near the end. So just to pay homage to that awesomeness, I'm just going to sprinkle some fantastic gifs into this review...

Basically, this book made my nerdy, rom-com-loving soul as happy as could be. Here's a list of things I love (also: a list of things that were included in this book)
- hate-to-love relationships
- snarky characters (all hail queen Trixie)
- sinister plots
- awesome friends
- Halloween
- witty arguments

And does it help that I could not put this book down the entire time I was reading it? And I want to buy my own copy, because this is definitely re-read worthy. Also, I seriously want a sequel; The Mess in college would be a beautiful thing.

Reread: March 2019

I love I love I love I love I FRAKKING LOVE THIS BOOK! Also, I have a strong urge to watch Battlestar Galactica now...

Reread: August 2021

A reread of this hidden gem was sorely needed. It's just so good?! I can't stop cracking up, swooning, and smiling all at the same time.
