This book was so unsettling and tense through almost the entire thing. (I don't want to spoil the sweet moments.)
It had this constant sense of unease... but so incredibly done.

It's on my wishlist for my library now.

I don’t think a book has ever made me physically nauseous before. Andrew Joseph White, you've done it again, my good sir. I think this is the most grotesque, visceral book I have ever read an,  I loved it. I had to put it down multiple times to scream. I was truly emotionally deeply scarred by blank space on a book. There is so much rage in this story, and I was living so vicariously in it. (Also, in my opinion, body horror is the best kind of horror. If it doesn’t make me want to vomit, I don’t want it.) So excited for Compound Fracture.

This book didn’t just beat the sophomore slump, it utterly demolished it. I think this is better than Hell Followed With Us, and if AJW keeps this up his books will just keep getting better. I got so attached to
Mary and Frances’s story and all its tragedy.
A perfect read for an autistic, ghost and gothic loving LGBT reader such as myself!

FANTASTIC BOOK! This author never fails to write a horrifically beautiful, emotional, and thought-provoking novel. Never did I consider myself a horror person, but my love for both of his books have me seeking other horror novels like these. The Spirit Bares Its Teeth somehow managed to turn an idea of historical fiction into a queer horror novel with some of the most beautiful use of the English language I have ever read. However, this book is not for those looking for an easy read. I simultaneously couldn't put the book down and dreaded turning each page. But for anyone who can stomach beautifully written gore and having to deal with the harsh reality of the world we live in, I couldn't recommend this book more.
