Adventure books can be exciting to read. But there has to be something thrilling about it, and fun characters. This book just feels like a montage of many seemingly deadly situations where the characters are saved out of no where at the last possible second. The first time it's exciting. But when it happens all the time it's just extremely predictable and laughable. After a while you understand that you don't need to worry about the characters, because as sure as the sun will rise each day, someone will enter the story out of nowhere and save the day. That removes all possible thrill and the characters are not near fun enough to hold it up

Entertaining adventure story
I admit I probably wouldn't have read this if it weren't for Amazon's monthly offer, but I'm glad I did. There seem to be a few historical inaccuracies, some slightly awkward dialogue, and a couple things that seemed rather implausible, but if you can get past that you'll be rewarded with a fast moving plot and likable characters.

Knowingly cheesy and never less than entertaining tale of an American smuggler and his international crew foiling a Nazi plot in WW2. Has a nice vein of humour along with the thrills (of which there are plenty) and never takes itself too seriously.
I listened to the Audible version which was very well done.
