Nice twist at the end.  I didn't see that one.
Ended a bit abruptly after that.

How can someone who wrote so impressively in the silent patient churn out this lackluster daft tale? I'm so disappointed.

This was a different experience entirely. I was gripped and waiting for the shoe to drop and this time the story was laughably terrible. It's one of those endings that don't make sense at all and really just leaves you feeling like you wasted your time.

After so much development, the story rushes to an anticlimactic dead end finish. Even if the killer had been Fosca I'd have been a lot more pleased. There's so many loose ends with this version and the attempts at misdirection left so much unanswered.

So much of this book felt so unrealistic. Mariana got where water couldn't. Her exposure to crime scenes, the professor's personal spaces and so much more felt so forced and out of place. None of it felt natural, more like being taken from place to place on a cleudo board in order to go to the pool and find out it was Princess Pink, in the laboratory with the tape measure. If that sounds absurd to you, then welcome to this book.

The beginning seemed very slow and the ending rushed and out of nowhere. Idk what to think about this one

With a quick and addictive pace, this one was hard to put down. I was a huge fan of The Silent Patient last year, so I appreciated the related Easter eggs. This one is focused on a group therapist who tries to solve the murder of her niece’s friend and classmate. All signs point to the American professor with a cult following, so it’s up to her to get the police to believe this. Which is…not her job? This one fell flat for me.

What was that plot twist??
Like, I was considering the whole time that the obvious suspect would be too easy but at the same time I would be disappointed if he wasn’t the one?
But that twist was getting crazier and crazier.
The story telling and building of tension was amazing so it kept me up until the early morning hours even though I have to wake up early
